The quality of loot drops is irrelevant and you'll never look at anything less than a legendary - other than if you want to push ultra late game. The game itself is ignored in favour of 'how can I get this set to drop' and 'these legendary powers to extract' to fill out some highly restricted build. The core gameplay loop is still super satisfying in terms of combat but somehow the heart got ripped out by all those systems and it no longer being about playing the game, but some other meta game. So the 'game' is really the meta-game of learning how to work the systems to roll more slot machines faster and better to get the uber sets to roll even harder. Knowing the meta only can speed you up somewhat, sans crazy speedrun schennanigans.ģ is kinda gutted and broken, in a sense that it is full of layers of systems which shower you in loot and rewards utterly incomparable to playing the game normally - and you can't progress without doing so. There is no acceleration, progress is slow and really only happens as you randomly get loot.
